Children enjoy the relaxed therapeutic atmosphere with various playful interventions that put them at ease and facilitate productive communication and healing.
Distance counseling is an option available for adults after the first initial visit.
Services
Individual Counseling
I offer a range of specialized services tailored to meet your individual needs including psychotherapy, CBT, graded exposure and play therapy techniques among others. I have assisted clients with concerns including Anxiety, Depression, panic attack, phobias, anger, grief and loss, guilt, divorce or other family related stressors, work related anxiety, behavior problems in children, parenting concerns or other family conflict. I have also assisted clients exhibiting or experiencing symptoms of disassociation, complex PTSD and those recovering from domestic violence or victims of other crime including sexual abuse.
Family Therapy
Counseling with children can be most effective when the family is involved. My approach ( with clients ages 13 and under) incorporates the parents or guardians into the process in an active manner, and the treatment plan may include their participation in sessions weekly as needed.
Child & Adolescent Therapy
Play is every child's first language and it is that communication format they are most comfortable using in sessions. Play Therapy techniques are used with children, teens and ,at some times, adults. Sand tray and other types of creative expression can provide clients of all ages with a relaxing and satisfying way to tell their stories, especially when the words to those stories are difficult to find at first. Play therapy techniques are also used to help children improve emotional regulation; a key component in reducing or preventing problematic behaviors and meltdowns.
Rachel Belue is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and National Board Certified Counselor (NCC) She holds a masters degree in clinical mental health counseling and a graduate certificate in play therapy from Capella University.
